Gia’s Salon opened for its first appointment on April 13, 2004. The salon was started by Kathy Wetzel of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Kathy has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 26 years. During that time she performed services and maintained relationships with her clients at the same company in Twin Lakes.

In 2004, she decided to open her own salon and found a good starting location in Spring Grove, Illinois. It was an easy decision to name her salon after her daughter, Gia. Two years later, Gia graduated from the Regency Beauty Institute of Madison, Wisconsin. The special mother-daughter team has welcomed clients to experience the unique and creative atmosphere.

In 2010, Kathy acquired a new, free-standing facility in Richmond, Illinois which would allow the salon to continue to grow and meet the requests of its guests. With the support of her husband Tim and the rest of the team, Kathy designed a gorgeous, state-of-the art facility to accommodate both salon & spa services. In the fall of 2010 the business moved to the new building in Richmond and celebrated the official grand opening on October 8, 2010. The interior is welcoming and provides a sense of relaxation as soon as you enter the front door. Stop by anytime for a salon tour and meet our team.

With the help and support of friends and family, Kathy has begun a business of beauty that continues to flourish and welcome clients from surrounding communities.



A credit card is required to make an appointment, and will be securely stored on the guest account. Guests may use the card on file to conveniently check-out after an appointment. The card on file may also be used to enforce the cancellation policy.

CANCELLATIONS: Appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is 50% of the appointment, and will be charged to the credit card provided at time of booking. This policy is in place out of respect for our stylists and guests.

GIA’s Salon & Spa is a quiet, relaxing refuge for all of our guests. Therefore we respectfully request that all children who are not receiving salon services be accompanied by an adult at all times.

We accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, GIA’s Gift Cards, GIA's online eGifts, & GIA Points. A valid driver’s license is required for all check payments.
